Pest
Yesterday we spent the day with Bro. Jake and Sis. Stacy working on their new house. They have moved closer to the church and we are thankful for that. The Lord blessed them with a nice place, but it needed quite a bit of work. It is really coming together though and I know they are thankful for that. Ryan spent the night there last night and did pretty good so thank the Lord.
I think I mentioned that Sis. Teresa and I put a garden out this year, well God has really blessed it and we are thankful. We only have one problem, our beans. It seems that these little pest called Mexican beetles have decided they want the beans more than we do. Needless to say we have waged war. On Monday while I was visiting Teresa and Kelby went out and picked so many off the beans it was amazing. One beetle can lay close to 500 eggs. They stay on the underside of the leaves so you can’t see them until the damage is done. They eggs are very small so seeing them at first is difficult also. Sis. Teresa got on line and it seems that finches love these beetles so we went to Lowe’s and got some thistle seed. This will draw the finches in to eat the beetles. OK where am I going with all this right, well think about this story and then think about the enemy of your soul. The enemy will place small things in areas where they can’t be seen to try and destroy us. Many times the damage is so extensive that a true effort must be made in order to get it out. It will multiply and increase until it destroys us if we let it. If we would have checked the beans a little sooner we may have caught these pest before they done so much damage. Now our work is cut out for us. Bottom line is if we want to produce fruit as a christian, keep a close check on your life, we must keep the pest from working on us and one sure way is to allow the spirit of God to examine us.
